Do You Want To Run For LIFE?
(No Matter Your Age…)
A Personal Message From Dr. Lynne G. Virant

- Are you worried about running as you get older because you fear that you’ll get hurt?
- Are you afraid of slowing down or not running at your best like you were able to do in the past?
- Are you determined to achieve your running goals no matter what age?
- Are you concerned that you’ll have to stop running and lose your ability to stay healthy?
If You Answered “Yes” To Any Of These Questions,
You Are In The Right Place!
Running for life IS possible, even as your body changes with age. We see many Pensacola runners who desire to keep their bodies healthy and active by running, no matter how many children, grandchildren, or even great-grandchildren they have!
Your body is going to change, but that doesn’t mean you have to give up on Running.
Here at The Movement Clinic, we specialize in helping runners overcome aches, pains, injuries, or life changes.

There’s A Lot Of Bad Advice Out There For Runners Who Want To Keep Running - No Matter Their Age…
FALSELY Told…
- You’re doing too much, you just need to slow down, run less frequently, and rest in between.
- Pain with running is “normal” with age and you just deal with it.
- To keep active you’ll have to take pain pills the rest of your life.
- You just need to stretch more before and after running.
But, The TRUTH Is...
- Slowing down just means moving less. Our bodies don’t slow down because we got old, our bodies get old because we slow down. Hmmm….
- It’s not normal to be in pain while running, no matter your age!
- Pain pills don’t address why you’re hurting and can cause other problems.
- Just stretching more won’t keep you running longer. Stretching, recovery, rest, nutrition, strength training, an effective training plan, motivating goals, a supportive community...These are all necessary for successful running at all ages, but especially as we get older and strive to keep running!

When It Comes To Running For LIFE...
- You must choose the right provider and running specialist who understands YOUR needs and goals. If you don’t, you could end up trying unnecessary treatments that may keep you from running (like pain medications or surgery) or give up running too soon.
- You must work with a provider who is an expert in running and knows what is needed to keep you active and healthy as your body and life changes.
- That’s when you’ll get a PERMANENT and effective solution to your problems.
